ProtectMyID.com Provides Consumers With Vital Tips On Internet ID Theft Protection

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) April 26, 2009

ProtectMyID.com a leading, full-service provider of identity theft detection, protection and fraud resolution, today announced Internet ID Theft Protection tips. If consumers spend any kind of time online they’re probably concerned about security; and rightfully so. Whether it is e-commerce, personal banking, bill paying or social networking, sooner or later consumers run the risk of exposing themselves to internet identity theft.

Ironically enough, the best line of defense against identity theft attacks is the one thing people give the least amount of thought to: their username/ password combination. Statistically, most people create username/password combo’s that are easy to remember. They tend to be associated with obvious personal data, like:

A partner, child, or pet’s name, sometimes followed by a 0 or 1
The last 4 digits of a social security number
Numerical sequences like 1,2,3,4
The word password
Hometown, city, college, favorite sports team
Date of birth – partner’s or child’s

The fact that most people use the same username and password for all their online accounts only compounds the danger of http://www.protectmyid.com/default.aspx?PageTypeID=HomePage17&SiteVersionID=815&SiteID=100302&sc=669082&bcd=semidtprw210408ts01 internet ID theft. If a hacker can hijack one password, they instantly have access to your other accounts. This can lead to identity theft, http://www.protectmyid.com/default.aspx?PageTypeID=HomePage17&SiteVersionID=815&SiteID=100302&sc=669082&bcd=semidtprw210408ts03 credit card fraud and a huge headache for consumers.

Consider this: password hijackers will go through trash, mail or the pages of social networking sites to dig up the info they need to crack a password. In fact, social networking sites are a key source for this kind of personal information. In spite of this level of personal invasion, there are still some very simple techniques consumers can practice to help protect password:

Indiscriminately trade out numbers and symbols for letters: h@ck3rs
Random caps are also an effective technique: h@Ck3Rs
Use something from the past: a random place, a favorite toy, etc. Don’t use names of friends or classmates, old address or phone numbers.
Vary username/password combinations among accounts.

Unfortunately, even if consumers follow all these techniques, they could still be hit by a brute force attack. This is where password hijackers use specifically designed software to crack security. This software is free and readily available online, so little can be done to stop this kind http://www.protectmyid.com/default.aspx?PageTypeID=HomePage17&SiteVersionID=815&SiteID=100302&sc=669082&bcd=semidtprw210408ts01 internet ID theft.

Sam Solakyan and Vital Imaging Donate $100,000.00 to Project Child Save

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 27, 2012

Vital Imaging, the leading provider of medical-legal Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in the state of California, has donated $ 100,000.00 to support the non-profit organization Project Child Save, whose mission is the prevention of child abductions and kidnappings through education and public awareness. When these unfortunate crimes occur, Project Child Save utilizes an international network to locate the abducted children, retrieve them, and return them home to their loved ones.

In 2011, Sam Solakyan, CEO of Vital Imaging, happened to catch an episode of a program on the Discovery channel called Kidnap and Rescue. The show followed a group of people who were going on rescue missions to save children who had been kidnapped and sold into sexual slavery.

At first I couldnt believe what I was watching, it was so horrific that I thought this must be something thought up by Hollywood, said Sam. I immediately became so disturbed that I began researching the credentials of this organization to see if what they were doing was real or just very dramatic stories meant to scare an audience. The further he dug the more real it became.

Sam has been an advocate for various child protection agencies in the past and has been a generous philanthropist for childrens charities. Because of my ties to the community and my interest in child welfare issues, I had seen and heard a lot of disturbing things concerning the abuse of children, but nothing that shook me to the core the way this had. When I began researching Ty Ritter and his organization Project Child Save, who were the featured group on the show Kidnap and Rescue, I had to know if I could help in some way. Once I became aware of how real child trafficking was and how criminals were making huge money selling child pornography of the youngest kids being raped, my goal became eradicating this horrendous crime. I eagerly got in touch with Mr. Ritter. Following Sams initial donation of $ 20,000.00, Project Child Save documented 39 cases of children having been saved from daily rape, torture and murder.

When Ritters trained operatives, mostly retired law enforcement agents, veterans, navy seals and retired government agents go on a raid, they save every victim they can find, not just the target victim. Ritter explains that he has, no one on payroll. I have been fortunate to work with skilled volunteers who are passionate about ending this atrocity against children. These folks are eager to take the Project Child Save pledge, If necessary I am prepared to give all of my tomorrows for one childs today. These operatives are extremely dangerous; my team risks their lives to go on these missions.

When Sam realized what 20k could accomplish so quickly, he was eager to meet the board members and volunteers responsible for saving these children. According to Ty Ritter, After Sams contribution to our cause we were happy to share the news of our successful mission. We were truly overwhelmed when he donated another $ 100,000.00 to Project Child Saves rescue missions, we will accomplish so much with this, so many lives can be saved. These missions are costly. Airlines are not handing out free tickets, hotels arent putting our operatives up for free during our reconnaissance missions, the equipment we need to do our jobs efficiently is not cheap, and after we recover these stolen children there is so much more they need in order to be returned safely to their families or safe houses where they can be treated medically and psychologically for their injuries. Not everyone can go on these missions, its not for everyone, but if we had a donation from everyone who wishes to be part of the end of this crime against humanity, we could accomplish a lot. We appreciate that help so much, it is the reason we are able to go to the places we need to go to do this work. We will save so many with the money Sam has entrusted us with.

In a meeting in March of 2012, Sam committed himself long term to join the fight against child pornography and child sex trafficking stating, Human trafficking particularly child sex trafficking is second only to drug trafficking in terms of lucrative black market business. This is the most heinous, horrible crime I can imagine and I couldnt put a price tag on how important it is to end this once and for all. No amount of success in this lifetime is worth it when we live in a world where people sell, rape, torture, exploit and murder children. Can you imagine if it was one of your own?

The Vital family is proud to support Project Child Save and we urge everyone to please see what this organization is doing to save these innocent children kidnapped from our own backyards and to please contribute anything you can. We urge organizations large and small to do their own research and find out what they can do to get behind such a worthy cause. Donate your time, resources, facilities, moneyyoud be surprised what you can do to help. This is a crime against children of all ages and ethnic backgrounds all over the world. Project Child Save is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and all contributions are 100% tax deductible. 100% of your donations go to training and recovery missions, which save not only the target child but any child found on those missions. Some of these children are on the FBI missing persons lists. There are so many children left on those lists yet to be found, and Project Child Save is on a mission to find them. Please dig deep and help save these babies from this terror happening right now.

You can contribute by going to info(at)projectchildsave(dot)org and learn more by going to http://www.YouTube.com/ProjectChildSave. Ty has also written a book, My Body is My Own which is a comprehensive guide for parents to read to help protect their families from crimes against children. Purchasing this book contributes to this cause and it also helps you protect your own family.

About Project Child Save:

Project Child Save is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping prevent child abductions and kidnappings. When these heinous acts are perpetrated against children, Project Child Save finds these abducted innocents, retrieves them, and returns them to their loved ones. Every year thousands of children are taken from their homes and sold into sexual slavery; mostly teens or pre-teens, and few ever make it back to their families. The reason is simple – money. Slavery is a lucrative business, and the cost of rescuing abductees is beyond the means of most. Average families can’t afford these costs, so they remain helpless as their loss overshadows the rest of their lives.

To help, donate to Project Child Save. No child deserves to be taken from their family and left crying in the night.

A Silent Voice Provides Vital Information Right at Your Fingertips

Sheboygan, WI (PRWEB) October 30, 2012

With the number of high profile stories of missing people seemingly more frequent in the last month, more national awareness has been brought to this troubling issue. The statistics are alarming. According to the FBI, nearly 1,800 Americans are reported missing every day. While this number includes both juveniles and adults, most of those missing are under 18 years of age.

A progressive new service launched this month now provides the silent voice for loved ones suffering the anguish of a missing family member. IfIGoMissing.com provides users with a secure and user-friendly interface to store important information. In the event that a child or adult goes missing, a designated user can login and report the loved one as missing, and provide the contact information to law enforcement immediately.

The online service makes it easy for families to put all of the important information in a secure place. This is more of a proactive approach, said Jeremy Reynolds, founder of IfIGoMissing.com. The site is a means for you to store all of the information that the police would want to have at their fingertips.

At a time when emotions run high and concern for the loved one overtakes logical thought, this is the silent voice that does the talking. The type of information that can be stored on IfIGoMissing.com varies from hair and eye color to nicknames, the user can select what goes into the server, which uses high-performance encryption methods to secure the information.

Providing this important data to law enforcement in a timely manner can mean the difference in quickly locating a lost loved one. The first 24 hours are the most critical, but for the police the first 24 seconds are the most critical, said Reynolds.

About If I Go Missing

IfIGoMissing.com is a proactive approach to protecting loved ones. The service provides users with a secure interface to store important information such as medical and dental records, as well as identification and technological information. Once a missing person report is filed, the information gets transmitted to the police. For more information, please visit the website or info(at)ifigomissing(dot)com.

New CDC Vital Signs Report: Disparities in Breast Cancer Continue Among U.S. Women

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) November 16, 2012

Black women have higher death rates from breast cancer than any other racial or ethnic group. They are 40 percent more likely to die from breast cancer than white women, according to a Vital Signs report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Despite the decline in breast cancer death rates in the past 20 years, black women had higher death rates even though they had fewer new cases of breast cancer, the report says.

The reports findings highlight the importance of educating women about the preventive benefits and coverage provided by the Affordable Care Act, including coverage of mammograms without co-pays in many health plans and, beginning in 2014, the law will expand access to health insurance coverage for 30 million previously uninsured Americans.

Although we are making progress reducing deaths from breast cancer, we have much work to do to reduce preventable deaths, particularly among African-American women, said CDC Director Thomas R. Frieden, M.D., M.P.H. Only when every woman receives adequate screening, timely follow-up, and high-quality treatment, will the full benefit of breast cancer screening be achieved.

The researchers reviewed data on new cases of invasive breast cancer reported during 2005 through 2009 from CDCs National Program of Cancer Registries and the National Cancer Institutes Surveillance, Epidemiology and End Results Program. Breast cancer deaths were based on death certificates submitted to National Vital Statistics System.

Visitor Management System Released by IDville Plays a Vital Role in Schools

Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) January 31, 2013

IDville, the leading identification and security expert for business, education, healthcare, and government, recommends visitor management systems for schools that are currently operating without a process in place to manage visitors. Today, more than ever, it is apparent that school safety isnt just an option, its an obligation. Implementing a process to track visitors is a critical step in not only protecting students, but also staff members.

ID is key to knowing when a child should or shouldnt be picked up from school. With Visitor Express: School Edition, all it takes is the swipe of a state-issued ID to know in seconds if the person entering a school poses a potential threat to the safety of students. When an ID is swiped, the National Sex Offender Registry will be checked, as well as any customized unwanted and approved pick-up lists created by staff members. Returning visitors can then be processed in as little as fifteen seconds with available Visitor Express key tags.

Visitor Express allows schools to manage the many students, staff, vendors, parents, and faculty that enter the school building each day in a low-cost and efficient way, says Kelli Piepkow, Marketing Manager of Grand Rapids, Michigan-based IDville.

The Visitor Express: School Edition system includes Visitor Express software, ID badge printer, license scanner, barcode reader, and a USB web cam. For more information, demos can be requested and scheduled.

Adjusting from a staff-managed or paper and pencil visitor check-in system to a technology-driven visitor management system requires an up-front investment, but it is a necessary and critical step in protecting students and staff. With instant alerts for parents, customizable unwanted visitor lists, instantaneous sex offender checks, and emergency response reporting, school security can be improved.

Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) Partners With MedicAlert Foundation on Vital Program That Can Help Save Lives

McLean, VA (PRWEB) June 17, 2013

For those faced with life-threatening anaphylaxis, communicating the severity of a medical emergency quickly is critical. Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) and the MedicAlert Foundation are pleased to announce their partnership and the MyVoice program, designed to help protect individuals with food allergies with life-saving services.

In an anaphylactic emergency, a MyVoice MedicAlert membership ensures emergency responders and hospital staff receive your childs or your own medical information within moments. MedicAlert identification products could save a life in the event that a reaction has progressed to the point that an individual becomes incapacitated and cannot communicate. Using medical identification products is recommended in the food allergy clinical guidelines developed by an expert panel sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

The MedicAlert Foundation has been a longtime supporter of our organization. We believe this partnership has tremendous benefits to our members and the food allergy community it is about keeping our loved ones with food allergies safe, said John L. Lehr, chief executive officer of FARE. Emergency responders are trained to look for MedicAlert identification products when treating patients in emergency situations, and we follow the lead of the national clinical guidelines in recommending that every individual with a food allergy wear these potentially life-saving accessories.

For children with food allergies, a MedicAlert ID can also serve as a signal that will remind those caring for them to avoid serving the childs food allergen.

Our partnership with FARE is critical to furthering our shared mission of protecting people during times of need, said Andrew B. Wigglesworth, president & CEO of MedicAlert Foundation. For over 50 years, MedicAlert Foundation has been providing vital health information on behalf of our members in all types of emergencies. Through this partnership, our objective is to help ensure individuals with food allergies receive quick and effective treatment in an emergency and that first responders have the necessary information to provide quality care.

The MedicAlert Foundation stores an individuals medical information and links it to his or her personalized medical ID. Additionally, a MyVoice MedicAlert membership provides family notification service in the event of an emergency, 24 hours a day. The MyVoice program provides a 10 percent discount on MedicAlert memberships for both adults and children. The Kid Smart and adult memberships through FARE come with a free basic medical ID, or a $ 10 credit toward an upgraded medical ID product.

The MedicAlert Foundation will donate 20 percent of proceeds from these MyVoice memberships to FARE to help support food allergy education, advocacy, awareness and research programs.
