Author Pens Real-life Horror Story of Foster-care System and Corruption

St. Augustine, Fla. (PRWEB) November 11, 2012

In Sherrie Clarks new memoir Small Voices Silenced: The Secret Society of Sacrificed Children (published by iUniverse), a couple find themselves in a true-life horror story, battling a powerful, secret society to prevent their two young foster girls from becoming its next sacrificial lambs.

Clark and her husband, like thousands of parents, wanted to adopt a child. By acting as foster-to-adopt parents, they had the chance to slowly bring two young girls into their lives, and themselves into the girls lives.

Until everything changed.

My familys desire to adopt a child led us down a path into an underground world that very few know exist, Clark says. We had fallen down a rabbit hole and into a foreign land where laws designed to protect children were twisted, leading to further victimization of these same children.

Clarks book contains all of the components of a juicy novel – deceit, manipulation, corruption, secrecy, conflict but it is a true story. Her prose offers the same emotional punch of fiction, but the knowledge that its a real story and not something made up will draw readers all the more emotionally toward it.

Small Voices Silenced has been recognized as an iUniverse Editors Choice book, which honors excellence in writing.

Heath Newton Attorney Pens Article Reflecting On The Steve Nash Child Custody Battle

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) June 05, 2013

Health Newton Attorney Alison K. Grcevich authored a piece reflecting on the Steve Nash child custody battle currently taking place in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) star is hoping to be absolved of paying child support for his three children.

Nashs lawyer argued that he pays for almost all the medical expenses, child care, school and activity costs for the children, while his ex-wife, Alejandra is already pulling in a hefty income to the tune of $ 30,000 per month, although it comes nowhere close to her famous ex-husbands haul. In addition, Alejandra also received around $ 5 million in the divorce settlement. That money should not play into a support decision, seeing how that money is strictly allocated for her, while support money (alimony) is supposed to be dedicated to the childrens well-being.

In addition, Alejandra is reportedly trying to move the children from Arizona to California, while Nash fights to block them.

California is known for having higher child support orders than many other states, says Alison K. Grcevich, an attorney with Bay-area family law firm Heath Newton. Because the cost of living in California is one of the highest in the nation, the result is higher child support orders than many other states, where living expenses are naturally lower.
