React Mobile, a leading developer of personal safety applications, is excited to announce the start of a two month long How would you React Facebook photo vote contest in an effort to increase safety awareness with the general public while offering the entrants a chance to win great prizes.
In real life scenarios, users can react to threatening and unknown situations by activating their React Mobile application to notify family, friends, and authorities that they are in danger. For the competition, entrants will react to the provided humorous and not-so-real life situation by posting a picture of their reaction to the React Mobile Facebook pages contest tab.

Reactions will be sought for unusual, even impossible situations like summer never ending, catching your cat washing your dishes, or being reverse pick-pocketed and winding up with $ 100 in your pocket. Prizes will relate to the situations and will include items such as an iPad, a $ 100 cash prize, and a full service house cleaning.
We want our users to feel empowered when theyre met with unfamiliar circumstances. We want them to be in control. Phones 4u is today launching an education programme to help parents understand the security options available on todays mobile phones to enable parents to make informed decisions to protect their children.
The programme follows insight conducted by ICM on behalf of Phones 4u which reveals that although 100 percent of parents are happy to buy their children a mobile phone, awareness of security tools is low with 71 percent of parents admitting that they havent used an internet safety tool and almost a third (29 percent) revealing they arent aware of such tools.
Instead, parents trust their children to police themselves online. 85 percent consider their children to be very aware of the potential risks of using the internet on their mobile phone, and 88 percent believe their children are open with them about how they use the internet on their phones.
Were looking to address the low awareness amongst parents about the range of security tools available on phones that are being used by children, to ensure they have the information they need to help their children stay safe online, comments Scott Hooton, Chief Commercial Officer at Phones 4u. While our research reveals the positive news that parents have a trusting relationship with their children, it also revealed more can be done by the industry to ensure parents stay informed of the security tools that are available to them.
Phones 4u has created a dedicated microsite to help guide people through the available tools both at network and device level which includes practical advice on installation. In addition, the subject of mobile security has been incorporated into Phones 4us consultative in-store sales process as well as on the Phones 4u website. This helps to ensure parents have the information they need to make decisions about the best handset and plans for their childs needs.
Susanna Scott, Founder, BritMums, says: Getting a mobile phone is a big and important step in the growth of a child, parents naturally want to understand the risks and do all they can to guide their children in the right direction. As a parent of three girls, one of which is in the process of getting a phone, I am very concerned about the safety aspects of mobile internet even though I trust my children to be sensible, you have a responsibility as a parent to make sure youre informed and educating them about the risks associated with anything they may be doing. This new site from Phone 4u is a much needed and very welcome source of information on the internet security options available across all mobile phone providers.
Will Gardner, CEO of Childnet, says: “With mobile phones increasingly becoming an integral part children’s lives, it is vital parents and carers are aware of the tools available to them as well as the key advice and information that they and their children need to use their phones safely and responsibly. The UK Mobile Operators have provided tools to help parents filter out age-inappropriate content, and we hope that this new guidance from Phones 4u can help highlight these tools to their customers”.
Hooton continues: When parents were offered information on security tools as part of the sales process, almost all were satisfied with it (92 percent) and more than half (55 percent) went on to use one of the tools. That tells us there is a real appetite for this information, and as an independent retailer we can provide impartial advice on the different security tools available for all the family.
For more information about mobile internet security, you can visit the new Phones 4u microsite: http://www.phones4u.co.uk/mobile-security

Rapid Protect (http://www.rapidprotect.com), which develops popular Rapid Tracker family safety apps and cloud-service applications for consumers, announced today the enhancements of security features that provide added peace of mind for busy families on the go.
Rapid Tracker is the only family safety app for mobile users that supports all smart phones (iPhone, Android, Blackberry) and non-smart, low cost Java enabled feature phones. It was the first company to integrate advanced geo-fencing capability in its web-platform. In addition, the apps have advance photo-check-in and status update features that can help families connect together. More group collaboration features are on the way and will be available in a few weeks time.
About Geo Fencing
The Geo-fence feature sets pre-defined location markers in the map for children. It enables parents to ensure their childrens safety and know where they are at all times by tracking the location of their mobile device. With Geo-fencing capabilities, parents can establish virtual geographic location boundaries to define where their children should be and receive an instant email or SMS alert in the event the child strays from that location. Parents can also set Geo-fence time parameters to receive an alert if their child does not arrive within a specified location within a certain time period.
Geo-fence can help in many ways. For example, parents could establish a Geo-fence around their neighborhood block to alert them when a child arrives home from school. Or, in the case of a child who is dropped off at the sports field or an after-school function, Geo-fence can alert parents if the child leaves the geo-fenced boundaries.
Families are busy and children want to have their own life. Rapid Tracker Apps are designed to ensure that you can help family members when they need your help and support without always being with them or constantly tracking them said Dr. Brijesh Kumar, COO at Rapid Protect. Geo-fence is yet another useful layer to help you ensure your family remains safe without you constantly checking each other’s whereabouts at all times.
Parents can set and edit Geo-fence boundaries through the Rapid Protect web portal. Multiple geo-points can be set for a user. There are many other types of conditional alerts coming soon.
About Shared Photo Vault
The new Photo Vault feature for Rapid Protect provides a family common place to upload their photos from the mobile phones. All family members can upload their photos to a common vault giving them ability to share their photos within the secure environment of Rapid Tracker, For instance a husband can upload photos from a hotel when on a business trip or a student can upload personal photos from his or her college or dorm.
Geo-fence and Photo Vaults are available for Rapid Tracker subscribers on the mobile platform, bolstering the companys commitment to protecting families through innovative, easy-to-use mobile phone security applications. The company is planning to add many innovative family group collaboration and safety features within a few more weeks.
