Feel Safer Now, Inc. Joins the War on Crime With Newly Launched Website

Asheville, NC (PRWEB) August 21, 2007

The Feel Safer Now group has taken on the task of helping consumers level the playing field with criminals. http://www.FeelSaferNow.com offers the latest in self defense and security products as well as free crime preventions tips, strategies, family safety, travel safety and what to do in a bad situation.

FeelSaferNow.com was founded by Robert Hogan, security specialist, in the hopes that good innocent people would learn how to protect themselves and their families against criminals. Our motto is “don’t become a victim”. So often, an innocent person is attacked and they have no plan in place for such violence, nor do they have any self defense items on their person or in their car or home.

Home invasions, child abductions, rape and crime in general are on the rise. With all the crime we are “drenched” in daily from the news and other media, you would think the world has gone mad. The U.S. has 5 times more murders in just one single year than all the deaths of US forces in the past 4 years of the Iraqi and Afghanistan war. This figure does not even include other crimes like rape, assault, home invasions, or burglary.

Did You Know ? Police cannot protect and are not legally liable for failing to protect individual citizens. Courts have without exception concluded that when a municipality or other governmental entity undertakes to furnish police services, it assumes a duty only to the public at large and not to individual members of the community”. A former Attorney General told Florida legislators that police responded to only 200,000 of 700,000 calls for help to Dade County authorities. The facts are that nearly 2,400,000 people use a gun to defend themselved every year. Of these 192,000 are women defending themselves against sexual attacks. Women and children are the most tragic victims of violent and sexual crimes as they are the easiest targets of predators. 92% merely brandish the weapon or shoot into the air, therefore in only 8% is the attacker killed or wounded. However, law-abiding citizens are routinely prosecuted for brandishing or using a firearm in self-defense. This is why it is important to use defense weapons other than a gun. Stun Guns, Tasers, and Pepper Spray are ideal choices.

Feel Safer Now offers free crime prevention tips and strategies to help you in the worst situations. Our security and safety website superstores offer hundreds of product options that are easy to use . Many of the security products are disguised cleverly in ordinary looking objects such as the Pepper Pager, the Cell Phone Stun Gun, and the Nanny Cameras that look like stuffed animals or a pack of baby wipes.

For runners and joggers, there is no better protection tool than our Hot Walkers which are one pound weights with pepper spray built right ito them.

Feel Safer Now is making it easier than ever to protect yourself and your family.

eGuardian Joins Forces with FoundationCare to Help Orange County Schools

Orange County, Calif. (PRWEB) January 4, 2008

eGuardian, designers of the child-safe Internet, today announced a partnership with FoundationCare, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping schools fund new technology, that will expand the reach of eGuardian and provide schools with a new income source.

Under this arrangement, eGuardian will donate $ 10 from each $ 20 enrollment fee for its innovative, patent-pending child protection service to local schools, and donate $ 2 to FoundationCare.

“This is a great opportunity for Orange County schools. Every time a parent signs up to protect his or her child online, the child’s local school will earn valuable funds,” said Elizabeth Zayas, executive director of FoundationCare.

Parents enroll in the eGuardian service to make social networking web sites and Internet search engines safe for their children. “We are in the business of protecting children and this relationship allows us to expand our reach while also benefiting children through schools and FoundationCare,” said Robert Patrick, eGuardian’s chief operations officer.

The partnership between eGuardian and FoundationCare will be heralded in a promotional campaign on the family-friendly cable networks Oxygen, Nickelodeon, the Food Network and ABC Family. “We look forward to increasing awareness of this exciting new partnership among California’s parents, teachers and school administrators. With help from eGuardian and FoundationCare, Orange County schools can lead the way in Internet protection, and benefit financially as well,” Zayas said.

The eGuardian application, which runs on any Windows- or Mac-based computer, verifies the age of a child and blocks contact with predators by allowing children to interact online only with other eGuardian-verified children. The service also blocks pornography sites, and allows popular search engines to automatically filter search results for the age of the child visitor.

eGuardian is available for a one-time fee of $ 20. Special programs are available to waive the fee for low-income households. Schools that choose to participate directly in eGuardian registration can earn more money per enrollment, and receive free unlimited use of the service for protecting children on school computers.

Parents or organizations interested in learning more about the new program can call 877-EGUARD-1, or visit eGuardian at http://www.eguardian.com or FoundationCare at http://www.foundationcare.org.

Operation Freedom Bell Campaign Joins Beth Moore, Ltcol Oliver North And Travis Cottrell To Provide Delivery Of Bibles To U.S. Military Troops

Nashville, TN (PRWEB) September 18, 2008

Indelible Creative Group recently announced two unprecedented projects for this holiday season, Operation Freedom Bell and new Travis Cottrell project, Ring The Bells.

A highlight of the Cottrell project release goes further than the music. Ring the Bells will be a launching point for Operation Freedom Bell, which brings hope, encouragement and Bibles to U.S. Soldiers who are serving overseas.

The purchase of each solid-brass Freedom Bell for only ten dollars provides an American solider with an “American Heroes” New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs. When a Freedom Bell is purchased, both the consumer and the solider will also receive video downloads from LtCol Oliver North and Beth Moore, along with a MP3 single from Travis Cottrell. Bells may be purchased and Bibles sent online through http://www.operationfreedombell.org, as well as through select retail and additional ministry outlets. At the Operation Freedom Bell website, there are also forums to hear directly from the soldiers and leave your prayers and thoughts for them as well.

“Often in life we ask ourselves: ‘How can I make a difference?'” Jeff Sheets, president & CEO of Son Companies & E3, a partner in Operation Freedom Bell. “Operation Freedom Bell was founded with the desire to provide a tangible way to keep our American Heroes at the forefront of our hearts and prayers and to be a supply line of the most important gifts we can give, God’s Word. You can make a difference, most importantly in praying for our troops and you can make an eternal impact by giving them God’s Word. In a real sense, participation in Operation Freedom Bell is one of the more tangible ways each of us can make a difference in the lives of men and women serving and protecting around the world.”

Operation Freedom Bell is a movement encouraging prayer and the opportunity to physically place the Word of God into the hands of men and women who need hope in the battlefield and encouragement from those they are serving. Travis Cottrell, Beth Moore, and LtCol Oliver North will lead this initiative, but it will be up to the American people to keep it fueled and keep the bells ringing.

Both the Ring the Bells CD and the Freedom Bell will be available at retail, online, and at Cottrell’s live tour events nationwide on October 7, 2008, through Indelible Creative Group / Word Entertainment. Cottrell will be touring this fall at Beth Moore Living Proof Live, and will be performing in December on Compassion International’s Gloria tour with Cindy Morgan and Shaun Groves.

Upon completion of a tour of New England this fall, Beth’s Living Proof Live conferences will have taken her to all fifty states since 1994. The events have been attended by more than 658,000 women.

LtCol Oliver North is a Vietnam veteran awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and two Purple Hearts during his twenty-two years of service as a United States Marine. Later, he was assigned to the National Security Council staff by former President Ronald Reagan, who called North “an American hero.” Today, he is a New York Times best-selling author, syndicated columnist, and host of the award-winning War Stories documentary series on the FOX News Channel. North has four children, eleven grandchildren, and lives with his wife in Virginia.

CensorNet Joins the Internet Watch Foundation

Bristol, United Kingdom (PRWEB) October 22, 2008

CensorNet, an internet security company, has become an associate member of the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) to help combat child sexual abuse sites and criminally obscene content, provide mechanisms for its users to report illegal content and to provide protection against this type of content in its products.

CensorNet offers web filtering solutions to the private, public and education sectors as well as offering bespoke filtering platforms for Internet Service Providers.

The IWF is the UK internet ‘Hotline’ for the public to report their inadvertent exposure to online child sexual abuse content hosted anywhere in the world, criminally obscene content and incitement to racial hatred hosted in the UK.

Tim Lloyd, Founder and Managing Director of CensorNet Ltd said, “We are very pleased to join the IWF. This is an important partnership for us and our clients and further demonstrates our commitment to protecting our customers, many of whom are educational institutes, and their users from illegal content. It also provides us with the opportunity to assist the IWF with their efforts which in turn makes the Internet a safer place for everyone.”

IWF helps internet service providers and hosting companies to combat abuse of their networks through a national ‘notice and take-down’ service and provides unique data to law enforcement partners in the UK and abroad to assist investigations into the distributers of potentially illegal online content. As a result of this partnership approach, less than 1% of child sexual abuse content, known to the IWF, has been hosted in the UK since 2003, down from 18% in 1997. As sexually abusive images of children are primarily hosted abroad, IWF also facilitates the industry-led initiative to protect users from inadvertent exposure to this content by blocking access to it through the provision of a dynamic list of child sexual abuse URLs.

Peter Robbins OBE, QPM, Chief Executive of the IWF, said: “We are delighted to welcome CensorNet as a member of the Internet Watch Foundation. The support of the online sector is vital for the IWF to continue its work combating child sexual abuse content online and we look forward to working in partnership with CensorNet to protect internet users and promote a safer online experience.”

About CensorNet Ltd:

CensorNet Ltd is an independent vendor that provides extremely flexible, accurate and powerful Internet filtering solutions to a wide range of organisations spanning many different market sectors, from small business and education to healthcare and government. The CensorNet technology includes a comprehensive database of over 60 million web sites, real-time content classification in over 15 languages and sophisticated image filtering. Currently, CensorNet is protecting over 1 million end-users.

For further information, please visit http://www.censornet.com or telephone +44 (0) 845 230 9590.

About IWF:

IWF works in partnership with the online industry, law enforcement, government, the education sector, charities, international partners and the public to minimise the availability of potentially illegal online content, specifically, child sexual abuse content hosted anywhere in the world and criminally obscene and incitement to racial hatred content hosted in the UK.

We are an independent self-regulatory body, funded by the EU and the wider online industry, including internet service providers, mobile operators and manufacturers, content service providers, filtering companies, search providers, trade associations and the financial sector as well as other organisations that support us for corporate social responsibility reasons.

We work with UK government to influence initiatives developed to combat online abuse and this dialogue goes beyond the UK and Europe to ensure greater awareness of global issues, trends and responsibilities. We work internationally with INHOPE and other relevant authorities and organisations to encourage wider adoption of good practice in combating online child sexual abuse content and to promote inclusive and united global responses to this dynamic, cross-border criminality.

We strive to create continued awareness of the role and purpose of the IWF and aim to foster trust and reassurance in the internet for current and future users. Our self-regulatory partnership approach is widely recognised as an effective model in combating the abuse of technology for the dissemination of illegal content.

Please note that “child pornography”, “child porn” and “kiddie porn” are not acceptable terms. The use of such language acts to legitimise images which are not pornography, rather, they are permanent records of children being sexually abused and as such should be referred to as child sexual abuse images.

Harris, the two-term District Attorney of San Francisco now seeking the Democratic nomination for California Attorney General, recruited online security thought leaders from various sectors of the technology industry to discuss cybersecurity issues, industry trends, and threats. The group will also formulate policy recommendations designed to help stem security breaches and crimes.

Heightened cybersecurity threats surrounding electronic trade, identity theft, e-commerce, intellectual property right protection, and financial crimes impelled Harris to create this advisory committee to solicit the best possible advice from experts in the field.

I look forward to working with this committee to bring innovative cyber crime-fighting solutions to Californias justice system.

Jim Garrity of Hosting.com will join other cybersecurity experts and thought leaders in frequent calls and meetings with Kamala Harris and her campaign staff to ensure existing and pending legislation takes the security enhancements and threats associated with it into full account.

The inaugural meeting of the advisory committee will take place on Tuesday, April 13. The first session will focus on providing Harris with an update on the current state of cybersecurity, and proposing areas where administrative policies and legislation could help minimize risks and enhance privacy.

Singer and Actress Mandy Moore Joins the UN Foundations Nothing But Nets for an Emergency Call to Action to Save Lives in the Central African Republic

Washington, DC (Vocus) July 28, 2010

Singer, songwriter, and actress Mandy Moore announced today she is joining the UN Foundations Nothing But Nets campaign to respond to an urgent need for life-saving, anti-malaria bed nets in the Central African Republicwhere a child dies every 30 seconds from malaria. Moore, an Ambassador for PSI (Population Services International), is partnering with Nothing But Nets and its UN partners to deliver bed nets to each family in the country who needs one, by the end of this year.

Malaria is preventable, yet it continues to kill nearly one million people every year, said Mandy Moore, who has seen the effects of malaria in Africa firsthand. Insecticide-treated bed nets are one of easiest ways to protect families from malaria-carrying mosquitoes. Im proud to be part of this initiative to send nets and save lives, and am hopeful we can reach this goal for the Central African Republic.

Nothing But Nets, a global, grassroots campaign to end malaria in Africa, has helped distribute more than 3 million long-lasting, insecticide-treated bed nets in 15 countries across Africa. With the help of Moore and PSI, covering the Central African Republic with bed nets will be a key step toward the global goal of ending malaria deaths by 2015.

People need to know that malaria, a disease that has existed for centuries and killed millions, can be stopped within the next five years, said Adrianna Logalbo, Director of Nothing But Nets. Mandy Moores voice, and the global reach of social media, is helping spread the buzz about the urgency of stopping this preventable disease.

Moore has been active in the fight against malaria since she saw its impact firsthand in South Sudan last year, on a trip to distribute nets with PSIan experience that inspired her to raise awareness to end malaria deaths. Id like to invite my fans to join me for a live discussion on August 12 at 2:00 p.m. [ET] to learn more and find out how they can help. Im eager to spread the word about this deadly disease and its simple solutionjust $ 10 to send a life-saving bed net.

Moore will join experts from Nothing But Nets and PSI for a Town Hall on malaria in Africa, broadcast live on Facebook, to speak more about the emergency appeal for nets in the Central African Republic and what Americans can do to help. To learn more, please visit http://www.NothingButNets.net.

Malaria is endemic throughout the Central African Republic year-round and is the leading killer of children under the age of five. Nothing But Nets, in partnership with Many Moore and PSI, plans to deliver 837,000 long-lasting, insecticide-treated bed nets to ensure each family in the country is protected from malaria.

Every 30 seconds, a child dies from malaria – which is easily prevented through the use of an insecticide-treated bed net. The nets create a protective barrier against mosquitoes at night, when the vast majority of malaria transmissions occur, and are the most cost-effective method of preventing the spread of the disease. One bed net can protect a family of four, and lasts up to five years. A net costs just $ 10 to purchase, deliver, and educate the recipient on its proper use.

To date, Nothing But Nets has raised more than $ 30 million to distribute more than 3 million nets to families throughout Africa. For more information, please visit http://www.NothingButNets.net.

It only costs $ 10 to provide an insecticide-treated bed net that can prevent this deadly disease. Visit http://www.NothingButNets.net to send a net and save a life.
