SexOffenderMap.org Lists Top Ten States with Highest Rate of Offenders

Los Angeles, Ca (PRWEB) August 09, 2013

Sex Offender Map, a free service providing information to parents and concerned citizens about the sex offender rates in their states and neighborhoods, announces its 2013 list of the top ten states with the worst sex offender rates. The three states that top the list are Delaware, Wyoming and Oregon.

Using demographic profiles of each state combined with sex offender data from the Parents for Megan’s Law website, the list highlights the top ten states with the highest amount of sex offenders per 1,000 people. The full list can be found on this page.

Created in response to 30 years of police work in California and Florida, Sex Offender Map was founded by retired police officer Sam Hadfield after he experienced first-hand the rapid re-conviction rate of many sex offenders. Mr. Hadfield noted that many tended to commit second and sometimes even third offenses almost immediately after being released from jail. Multiple studies and statistics from the U.S. Department of Justice echo Mr. Hadfield’s experiences. According to the Department’s data, roughly 70 percent of sex offenders commit a second crime, 19 percent of rapists are re-convicted, and a child is sexually abused every two minutes.

According to an article on the Sex Offender Map site written by Mr. Hadfield, “As a measure of precaution, I have always warned families with teenagers and young children to avoid living in neighborhoods where there are many registered sex offenders, to be better safe than sorry. I decided to launch this website to help Americans keep track of sex offenders in their neighborhoods, and to provide valuable information and tips to families that want to learn more about how to stay safe and avoid the worst.”

By partnering with public safety site AlertID, Sex Offender Map offers a free tool that shows the exact location, name and picture of sex offenders living in neighborhoods all over the nation. With nearly 748,000 sex offenders registered in the U.S. alone, Sex Offender Map helps parents and loved ones protect their children by understanding their surroundings and neighborhoods.

About Sex Offender Map:

Sex Offender Map is a free service launched by Sam Hadfield, a retired police officer having served in the states of Florida and California. Report Shows Drug Use Highest in Brevard County Florida

(PRWEB) February 15, 2005

In 2004, Brevard County was the focus of a pilot project initiated by the Department of Children and Families (DCF-District 7) and affiliated Magna Medical Screening Services for the performance of drug tests. The clients were primarily parents under suspicion of abuse and neglect. According to a preliminary report by Magna Medical Screening Services, drug tests performed in Brevard County scored the highest number of positives results than any of the four counties involved in the pilot. “From the pilot, Marijuana (THC) and Cocaine (COC) were the two leading drugs that typically came up as positive in tests results for Brevard County” says Smith. The pilot project covered the counties of Osceola, Orange, Seminole, and Brevard.

Based upon these and other findings, Magna Medical announced today that an agreement has been reached with the State of Florida’s Eighteenth Judicial Circuit Court to establish a drug screen and collection facility at the Brevard County Circuit Court House in Viera, Florida. The service will be made available to all cases, but primarily for court dependency cases.

“This is a great step in helping Judges handle case loads” says Urainua Smith Spokesperson for Magna Medical Services, Inc. “We will be able to immediately test individuals thus eliminating a need for additional hearings to review results.”

The initial project allows for Magna Medical Services to establish an on-site part time drug screener. All lawyers, state agencies, and individuals associated with the courthouse will have access to the service.

“A good number of dependency cases involve drug use” says Chief Circuit Court Judge James E. C. Perryr” It seems fitting that such a service should be made available in the Brevard County Viera Courthouse”

This is a new direction for Magna Medical Services, Inc which primarily provides companies and organizations (including state entities) with mobile drug screening services.

Magna Medical Services Inc. is an on-site drug testing service with headquarters in Las Vegas, Nevada and regional offices located in Longwood, Florida and Bridgeport Connecticut. Magna Medical Services Inc. has experienced drug testers located and administers five-panel and ten-panel tests, oral fluid tests, and hair drug as well as steroid screening and testing services. In addition, Magna Medical offers addiction awareness training, one hour site arrival guarantee, and double screen lab confirmations to meet all drug testing needs.
