Kid Safe Place is offering four kid-safe web browsers created by Childrens Educational Network of San Diego, California, with a free demo and 100% money back guarantee.
Protecting children while they explore the Internet has become a major issue with law enforcement, including the FBI, which has even distributed a publication that helps inform parents about web safety.
These kinds of [Internet] cases truly represent the most abhorrent crimes we see, said Jana Monroe, FBI Assistant Director, Cyber Division. We will continue to work aggressively to prosecute those who engage in the exploitation of our children.
Now, with Kid Safe Place, parents can work just as aggressively to protect children.
There are four new browsers, Santa Surfer, Noahs Net, MindStein Travels and the brand new Son of the Mask from the new movie. Santa Surfer is a Holiday themed browser. Noahs Net is a Christian themed educational browser and MindStein Travels features Professor MindStein, an educational cartoon character. The kid-safe browsers allow children to safely discover the possibilities of the Internet, expanding their horizons and exposing them to different cultures and ways of life. The browsers are controlled by parents, allowing them to assemble a safe, secure and educational Internet experience for their children.
The suite of applications offered by Kid Safe Place includes child-safe web browsers, talking email, talking chat, and, in the future, talking instant messaging. Parents can program and edit an

MyRapidMD Corp (“the Company” or “MRMD”) a developer of Meaningful Personal Mobile Content and the developer of the award winning personal medical alert service – the Emergency Service Profile (ESP) cell phone application, today announced free lifetime ESP memberships to the first 1000 subscribers as part of its national launch campaign.
Once ESP is installed on a cell phone, the proprietary and potentially lifesaving ESP application provides users personal Emergency Service Profile, including photo identification, at the accident or medical emergency scene to first responders immediately, and without the need of a service connection.
ESP, based on a global emergency assessment protocol used by first responders at emergency scenes, contains information of only one individual, no financial, social security or address information so the ESP information only has value to the user, and the first responder seeking their ESP information. ESP allows first responders to treat users more efficiently, effectively, and accurately in an accident, medical emergency, in transit to the ER and at the ER because now they have immediate access to users Emergency Service Profile when information and time count most, that first hour.
“Time and quality information are your best hope for survival in an emergency. ESP just makes too much sense; a ring tone, movie or game on your cell phone is not going to help me save the life of your child, your senior parent or you in an emergency or accident,” said Chief Richard Cole, Chairman of the MyRapidMD Emergency Services Advisory Board, whose members have over 100 years of collective Emergency Response experience.
The Emergency Service Profile is exactly that said Mr. Mark White President and founder, “It provides the critical emergency information and photo ID about a person in an accident or medical emergency. It is not trying to provide an extensive personal health or medical history record of a person, that’s what online medical record services such as Microsoft’s Health vault, Google Health or WebMD’s PHR do, among others. Simply put, time and information saves lives and the trickle down effects directly benefit healthcare, emergency services and their relevant providers. Our goal is to deliver that information as quickly and effectively as possible when needed.”
A large majority of service providers and cell or smart phone handsets, including Blackberries, are ESP compatible. Verizon’s “Get it Now” browser and the Apple iPhone both currently block outside third party applications. Non- “Get it Now” Verizon customers can however install ESP. If in doubt, go to http://www.myrapidmd.com and select “test your phone”.
Both Verizon and Apple have however, indicated they will make Software Development Kits (SDK’s) available to content developers by the middle of 2008 and we will develop ESP applications for these devices as soon as they are available.
ESP is not about games, ring tones or movies, it’s about your life, your peace of mind and your safety.
Even if their phone is not ESP compatible right now, users still need to sign up. Why? Because they still get all the benefits of the ESP membership pack. And when they do change phones or service providers, login to their ESP account and send your ESP to their cell phone, it’s that simple.
With a free Lifetime ESP Membership users receive:
24/7 access to their password protected ESP via the website.
ESP wallet and key chain cards with member ID number.
ESP stickers for a phone and a car windshield decal.
ESP refrigerator magnet for the home with their Name, Sex, Member ID number and 24/7 toll-free call center phone number.
24/7 toll-free automated call center, in case their phone is lost, broken or unavailable. First responders can call to retrieve their full ESP details.
256 bit SSL security: twice the industry standard to protect their information in transit.
To see full ESP membership details go to http://www.myrapidmd.com/benefits.
“There are more than 230 million cells phones in the USA and more than 70% of children over the age of 8 have them or have used them. Cell phones are an inherent part of the American lifestyle and at MyRapidMD we believe your phone should to do more than text, talk & entertain we believe it should care!” said Mr. Damien Vallernaud, MyRapidMD COO.
ESP was selected from over 400 new products and services by EMS magazine, considered the leading global authority on the EMS industry, as one of the top product picks at the National EMS Expo in Orlando, FL in October of 2007. Additionally, MyRapidMD has received one of twelve invitations to present and demonstrate ESP at the Coalition for Disaster Management Solutions Conference (CDMS) sponsored by F.E.M.A. Region IX and The American Red Cross in San Francisco on March 312008.

In today’s world it pays to be prepared for life’s unexpected emergencies.
“Does your phone have ESP?”
Privately held MyRapidMD is the developer of the Emergency Service Profile (ESP) proprietary software application. Designed specifically for cell phones and smart phones, the ESP medical alert service provides a concise Emergency Service Profile based on an internationally recognized victim assessment protocol used by first responders. MyRapidMD has formatted this protocol into a medical alert mobile software application that also attaches a photo of the cell phone owner to confirm their identity in emergency or accident situations. ESP is easily retrieved and displayed by first responders on the victim’s cell phone at the emergency or accident scene. Developed in concert with Firefighters, Paramedics, Emergency Room Nurses and other first responders,
MyRapidMD’s ESP turns the cell phone into an efficient and effective emergency information tool at the emergency scene and while the patient/victim is in transit to the ER.

Unum (NYSE: UNM) , the leading disability insurer in the U.S. and U.K., has expanded its partnership with Ceridian, one of the worlds largest providers of human resource services, to launch an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) in the United Kingdom. The new service will be offered under the name Unum LifeWorks and cover all employers and employees insured by Unum Group Income Protection (GIP) policies.
Importantly for employers, the program raises the bar in the provision of EAPs in the U.K. by providing access for employers to online and telephone legal and employment help lines for managers and supervisors.
The program is based on a best practice EAP service design which has worked extremely well for Unum and Ceridian in the United States. Unum US and Ceridian have been partnering since 1992 and offer a similar integrated EAP and work-life service to over 39,000 customers. Unums work-life balance EAP in the U.S. offers many modes of access to the service including online, face-to-face and telephonic to accommodate generational preferences and convenience. Employees can receive consultation and assistance with issues such as selecting a child care agency, parenting skills, elder concerns, financial worries, interpersonal problems at work, grief and relationship concerns just to name a few.
The U.K. program, which will begin in November 2008, has been specifically designed to provide a unique range of services that will benefit both employees and employers by aiding them with potentially stressful situations and issues. Stress-related illness is becoming increasingly prevalent amongst workers in the U.K. and offering an EAP will allow employees to seek advice at an early stage, before issues may start to impact on their health and work performance.
The launch comes on the heels of new research1 from Unum, which reveals that over half (51%) of all U.K. workers believe that their work has been impacted over the past two years due to stresses and worries.
The most common stresses cited by workers were worrying about personal health issues (38% of respondents) or other personal issues (37%), followed by stress due to the cost of living or not being able to pay off debts (32% and 25% respectively).
The research also revealed that work issues and personal issues are likely to have the greatest impact on an employees work performance; 72% and 71%, respectively of respondents who admitted that their work had been greatly affected by stresses and worries in the past two years cited these problems. These are followed by stress due to personal health issues (66%) and the cost of living (57%).
As our research shows, personal and work issues can have a significant impact on an employees ability to perform their role at work, said Wojciech Dochan, Head of Commercial Marketing at Unum UK, This can result in unnecessary levels of stress, which in turn can impact upon an employees health.
Unum LifeWorks will add value to our current GIP offering by not only helping both employees and employers to resolve potentially stressful and complicated personal and work-related situations at the earliest stage possible, but also supporting organizational management in the areas of legal and employment information. We are committed at Unum to supporting U.K. businesses as much as possible through the introduction of this new service.
Jeremy Campbell, director of Ceridian HRO sales, said: We are delighted to be working with Unum to provide well-being services to their policy holders. It is unrealistic to expect employees to leave personal issues at home, but by the same standard, with todays PDA and Blackberry culture work rarely stops when you leave the office. Unum LifeWorks provides guidance to individuals on a range of life issues, whilst also advising businesses on how best to support their employees with balancing work and life.
As well as providing emotional support from qualified counselors and support for everyday issues, users can benefit from access to a range of health, educational/career development and debt/financial specialists. In addition, the Unum LifeWorks Online website offers practical resources to enable users to be proactive and tackle their concerns before they impact on work and personal life.
Further services available for U.K. employees include access to telephone and face-to-face counseling, matched referrals for child and elder care and tips and advice online on a wide range of subjects. This is reinforced with printed materials and CDs which can be sent to employees homes, at their request, on topics that are relevant to them.
(1) Independent research agency ICM interviewed a random sample of 2092 U.K. adults aged 18+ from its online panel between 22nd-25th August 2008. Surveys were conducted across the country and the results have been weighted to the profile of all U. K. adults. ICM is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules. Most people will tell you that nothing in life is free. “Everything has a price,” as the saying goes. But for the holidays, Pandora Corp. is changing the rules. Beginning at 12:01 AM on December 25th, and through New Years Day, the company will be giving away its signature computer monitoring software, PC Pandora, absolutely free.
“The economy is making the holidays difficult for a lot of folks this year,” explains Pandora Corp. co-founder James Leasure. “Parents will probably dig deeper this year to make the kids and family happy, especially if they are planning to buy a new PC for the household. We want to make sure that kids using those PCs stay safe online, and so we’re helping parents get the best safety tools for free.”
Starting Christmas morning, parents can visit http://www.pcpandora.com and use the code PCPANDORAHOLIDAY to get the current PC Pandora version 5.2 absolutely free as a download. The giveaway will last until 11:59 PM on January 1, 2009, or until 50,000 units have been given away. There are no strings attached; in fact, there is even an incentive: parents who take advantage of the giveaway will be given an e-coupon to use on the next release of the software.
In early 2009, Pandora Corp. will be releasing PC Pandora 6.0. The new version will contain standard upgrades and modifications plus many important new features including the optional Pandora LIVE, a web-based subscription service that will allow near real-time monitoring, as well as the ability to change or modify settings remotely. Leasure says he hopes that people find the software essential enough to come back and take a look at the new version.
“Internet safety can’t be put on the back burner, so we’re going to give our software away now when many people are telling us that they simply can’t afford discretionary spending,” says Leasure. “We want parents to see how incredibly efficient our program is and what a powerful tool it can be in 21st century parenting. Of course, our hope is that these families will remain loyal customers once the economy turns around, but even if not, it’s critical that parents understand what’s happening online.”
PC Pandora is computer monitoring software that records all activity on a computer. The program’s first-rate monitoring capabilities take sequential snapshots of everything that happens on the screen, thus allowing parents to see first-hand everything their child does both on and offline. Further details of user activity are made available in text-based files, including instant messenger chats, emails sent and received, websites visited, peer-2-peer files shared, keystrokes logged, programs accessed, Internet search queries and more. The IRIS feature will even send those text-based files right to a parent’s email – invaluable for working moms and dads who can’t always be home when the kids are online.
Leasure says the ways that computer monitoring software can help parents are so numerous they often don’t consider all of them. “If your child is visiting websites you don’t approve of, talking to strangers on social networks, creating and maintaining multiple social network profiles, downloading illegal music and movies, or falling victim to or – even worse – acting as a cyberbully, you will know about it if you are monitoring their internet activity.”
Typical filters and standard blocks are easy for savvy young users to circumnavigate, “But if you have computer monitoring software like PC Pandora,” explains Leasure, “you’ll know what your children are doing and be able to act appropriately.”
While almost every home in America with kids contains a computer, not everyone can spend the extra money on the protection they need right now. “The bottom line is keeping kids safe online,” states Leasure. “Our Christmas gift to parents this year is giving them the tools they need to do just that.”
Visit http://www.pcpandora.com between Christmas and New Year’s Day and use the code PCPANDORAHOLIDAY at checkout to get your copy of PC Pandora for free.
About PC Pandora:
Pandora Corporation was formed with one goal – to help our customers monitor, control and protect their families and themselves online. The company website devotes space to helping parents by providing them with 18 Tips to Safe Surfing and Pandora’s Blog, where current news in the world of online safety is discussed regularly.
