Warrior Custom Golf is proud to support this years 12th Annual Diamond Bar Chapter of the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation Charity Golf tournament at the Via Verde Country Club in San Dimas, California. The event is held in memory of Alisa Ann Ruch who was fatally injured at age eight in a backyard barbecue accident and to raise funds for the AARBF which was established after her death to prevent burn injuries and provide services to burn survivors.
AARBF supports the fire service and medical community to prevent burns and strives to address the needs of burn survivors throughout all the stages of recovery. AARBF’s staff and volunteers work closely with the community to host prevention programs, raise funds and provide services to burn survivors.
There will be several Arcadia Firefighters and local businesses in attendance, to support the continuing efforts of the AARBF, who provide a supportive atmosphere for children who have suffered burn injuries by sending them to their annual Champ Camp. Champ Camp is a week-long summer camp that gives a child the opportunity to meet others who have gone through a similar experience and to realize they are not alone with their injuries. It spotlights a person’s ”inner beauty” and teaches them not to focus on the burn scars that they have to continually live with.
100% of the proceeds from this event will go directly to Champ Camp which is available to all young burn survivors in California ages 5-16 with a special Counselor-in-Training program for survivors ages 17-20.
Here’s how the AARBF impacted one childs life:
Going back to school after a burn injury can be scary. Alyssa Mercado a 6 year old child burn survivor experienced the fear first hand. According to Alyssa’s mother, Fermina Mercado, when Alyssa returned to school the children in Alyssa’s class were not very nice to her. They stared, asked impolite questions, and others did not want to play with Alyssa during recess.
Alyssa was connected to AARBF through Shriner’s Hostpital and hoped for some kind of relief when she returned to school. AARBF went to Richard Riordan Elementary to complete a ”Back to School” presentation with Alyssa’s class.
After the presentation Alyssa’s entire school experience changed. Fermina Mercado, Alyssa’s mother stated ”Alyssa is very happy to go to school each morning, and wakes up extra early and excited.” Fermina further explained that the positive attitude comes from the new friends that Alyssa is making at school; thanks to the ”Back to School” presentation, put on by the Alisa Ruch Burn Foundation. ”The Back to School presentation works, because it helped Alyssa want to be at school. She is very happy,” says her mother.
About the Alisa Ruch Burn Foundation

The Austin Chapter of the National Charity League (NCL) is proud to announce today that its members have contributed more than 9,000 hours to local philanthropies during the most recent NCL calendar year, which ended March 31. A national-nonprofit group, NCL brings together mothers, referred to as Patronesses, and daughters grades 7-12, referred to as Ticktockers, committed to leadership development and training, and building cultural awareness through community service on a local level.
This announcement follows the chapter Ticktocker Awards Ceremony, which was held this past Saturday, April 25, honoring the time and effort donated by all current ticktockers, and welcoming 32 new members into the chapter as the Class of 2016. The Ticktocker Class of 2010 consists of twenty-one young women who collectively served over 4,300 hours benefiting 26 different Austin-area philanthropies over the course of their six years with the Austin Chapter.
And the future looks even brighter for the Austin NCL with this past years 9th graders, Class of 2013, contributing the highest total charity hours in the year, at over 1,000. As these girls complete their next 3 years of high school, their community service contributions will benefit the entire Austin area.
We are so proud of our girls, and the overall mission of NCL, said Lisa Sikora, NCL Austin President. This has been a great year, very rewarding for local philanthropies, but equally so for our mothers and daughters.
Im proud to have been part of NCL these past years and look forward to the next two. I really believe in giving back to the community, taking time to help those in need. Its even better that I get to do this good work along side my Mom said Sarah Brown, Westlake High School sophomore, who received this years Merci Award, given to the Ticktocker with the highest philanthropy hour count for the year. Sarah contributed a total of 207 community service hours in the past year.
Throughout the year the chapter hosts programs, presentations and field trips for the members with the goal of providing opportunities for the girls to learn the beauty of giving of themselves to others; to develop and practice leadership and social skills within their peer groups; and to have an awareness and appreciation of the various forms of culture in the community. Two annual events are the time honored NCL tradition of Tea, to train the daughters in proper etiquette to serve as hostesses, and Ticktocker Day, which brings together all of the ticktockers in the Austin chapter to collaborate on a single philanthropic project.

CT Business Travel is part of UNIGLOBE, and it is through this association that these organisations have decided to help a very special cause. The charity is Plan and the specific campaign the funds are being raised for is Because I am a Girl.
Plan is one of the largest child-centred community development organisations in the world, helping children and their families in 48 of the poorest countries to break the cycle of poverty.
Plans Because I am a Girl campaign is a global campaign to raise awareness for the plight of girls around the world and the unique role they play in the fight against global poverty. In many countries around the world, girls are denied their rights such as education and healthcare, nourishment and protection simply because they are girls. But it is proven that investing in girls is a key to eliminating global poverty. By educating girls they will go on to improve the lives of those around them. They will help break the cycle of poverty, not just for themselves, but for their families, communities and nations.

Minneapolis, MN (Vocus) January 8, 2011
The 2010 Mitten Drive was a concept that began with Chelsea Elliott and Riley Hoffman, founder of Igniting Impulses. When Brenton Hayden heard the concept, he knew he could help make it a success. One email (see below) resulted in 4435 mittens donated to Sharing and Caring Hands in Minneapolis, MN.
My company, Renters Warehouse, has teamed up with Igniting Impulses and Grain Studio to create the 2010 Mitten Drive. The goal is to provide the simplest of luxuries such as gloves and mittens to those who are less fortunate. There are coat drives, food drives, diaper drives, but no Mitten drive. We want to donate 2500 Mittens & Hats to Sharing and Caring Hands by Dec 22nd of this year. Sharing and Caring Hands is a local Minneapolis charity committed to helping those less fortunate. I have found a distributor online that can produce and sell us 1 pair of gloves/mittens for 70 cents. Can you spare 70 cents to give a young child the snowball fight we all remember, the ability to play in the Minnesota snow, and brave the fierce Minnesota winter? I challenge you all to see who can donate the most mittens to the Mitten Drive this year! I will personally match all donations up to 500 pair of mittens. And to start it off with a bang, I will donate 200 right now! How many will you donate?
Chelsea, Riley and Brenton were stunned by the response. Their goal of 2000 mittens donated to the local Minneapolis charity, Sharing and Caring Hands, was far exceeded. Just one simple email resulted in donations that more than doubled their expectations. 4435 mittens were dropped off at Sharing and Caring Hands proving that in an economy when people struggle to purchase gifts for their own families, the spirit of giving is strong in the Twin Cities.
All of the donations are greatly appreciated. The highest donation of 100 mittens was received by Tracy Call, owner of Media Bridge; a Minneapolis based marketing agency specializing in Media Buying. Greg Mansourian with the upscale car service Mannys Limos came in second, donating 844 mittens.
The Mitten Drive team plans to expand in future years with greater efforts to get the word out about this innovative charitable drive with marketing and corporate partnerships. So many kids and families are in need of the simple necessity of warm hands during cold winters locally and regionally. Expanding beyond a single email could lead to huge possibilities for those in need, and the Mitten Drive team is looking forward to growing their efforts after realizing how strong the spirit of giving really is.

About Brenton Hayden
Brenton Hayden, age 25, is the owner of Renters Warehouse, Pink Blue, and Sexy Limos. His passion, dedication, and tenacity defines an entrepreneurial spirit.
Renters Warehouse is a soon-to-be franchised property management company headquarted in MN with a branch in AZ. Renters Warehouse is unique in that Brenton has created a niche market in the industry. In one of the worst real estate markets since the 1960s, Renters Warehouse has provided home owners on the verge of foreclosure or short sale an alternative by renting their property out. Brenton calls this type of client an unintentional landlord. Until recently, there wasnt a company that worked with homeowners who only had one or two properties locally. Typically the term property manager was reserved for medium to large real estate investors. With this service, Brenton estimates he saves over 500 people a year from foreclosure or short sale. Since September of 2007, Renters Warehouse has been able to remove much of the risk associated with being a landlord with innovative programs such as the tenant warranty and eviction protection plan. Brenton forecasts posting revenues of over 2 million dollars this year.
Brenton recently launched a sister company to Renters Warehouse known as Pink Blue. Pink Blue is a real estate company that focuses on two niche markets. In one specialty market the agents concentrate on new or small real estate investors helping them create income through rental properties. The second specialty market for Pink Blues buying and selling agents is working with community servants including police, firefighters, doctors, nurses, teachers, active and retired military. Brenton gives much of the proceeds his company makes in commission representing these clients back to them at closing in thanks for their servitude.
To help educate the public about real estate in general and current trends, Brenton hosts and produces a morning real estate advice show on Fox Radio KTALK 100.3.
Brenton also owns Sexy Limos nightlife limousine services in Minneapolis. According to the popular limousine reservation site, limos.com, it is one of the most booked nightlife limo services in the city.

During the past holiday season, Simply Audiobooks raised enough money for the Books for Kids charity that allowed an entire Books for Kids library to be restocked with new books. The campaign enabled customers to choose the option of donating to charity at checkout with the purchase of a gift certificate. Simply Audiobooks donated 10% of the gift value, on the customers behalf, to the Books for Kids charity.
The funds raised will not only restock an entire library, but will also allow Books for Kids to give away a collection of take home books for low-income and at-risk preschool-aged children served by that library. Simply Audiobooks is thrilled to give back to a charity that strives to promote literacy and help children who do not have adequate access to books.
As literacy remains a prominent issue, its vital that we address the fundamental value of literacy at a young age in order to protect the academic future of a child. With 85% of our core personality traits, our intellect, social skills, developed at the age of 5, it is crucial to support a childs growth. Ian Small, Brand Manager of Simply Audiobooks, believes the power of storytelling goes beyond solely being entertained by a good story. It is a well-known fact that those who are read too have larger vocabularies and even higher cognitive skills than their peers.
Being a part of something that emphasizes the core values of literacy and having Simply Audiobooks customers feel the same way, highlights a special community that is dedicated to creating a solid foundation for future academic success. Simply Audiobooks is proud to be a part of this giving community.

“Non-profit organizations are struggling in today’s economy. It’s a tough environment and they need all the assistance they can get,” says Mark Travers. “This is our way to help.”
Travers is the publisher of EventsInAmerica.com (http://www.EventsInAmerica.com), the most comprehensive online directory of tradeshows, meetings, conventions and conferences in the United States. He’s prepared to write a big check in the amount of $ 10,000 to one charity if two things happen:
1 million people visit http://www.EventsInAmerica.com between now and December 30, 2011, and
One of the 8 charities listed on the site attracts 50% or more of all votes cast.
So Travers wants everyone in the trade show and meetings industry to visit the site and vote. Anyone can vote for the charities listed. There’s no purchase necessary to vote. And people can vote multiple times. “Tell your friends to vote. Tell your co-workers to vote. Send out tweets on Twitter and add posts on Facebook. As they say in Chicago, ‘vote early, vote often,” says Travers.
Which are the charities in competition to receive the $ 10,000 donation? The 8 are:
